Seriously Jaxon!?!

So for the last two nights Jaxon has decided it would be a great time to learn how to sleep on his tummy. Only he isn’t actually sleeping he rolls over wakes himself up and starts to whine! I the have to get out of bed roll him over feed him a little and let him go back to sleep. Not really a big deal except he is doing it 5 times a night!! That doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for me to actually get any real sleep in. Then to top everything else off he is now refusing to breastfeed at all! I love my son to the moon and back but if he doesn’t start learning to either stay on his back or fall back asleep once he has rolled over I am going to tape him down on his back to his crib!! (Okay people I really would never do anything like that so please no nasty remarks)

August Long Weekend

Happy Tuesday!! It was a long weekend here in Canada (hmm maybe just BC considering it is called BC Day) and my little family got together with the rest of my side of the family to get some much needed family photos done.

It was a LONG day with having to travel all over Whatcom County and then back home to Canada but it was still so much fun and we really lucked out with the border heading both ways. It was absolutely beautiful out as well; there was lots of sunscreen applied to my little family’s skin considering the last time Sean and I were outside we burned in the shade!!

We started out our adventure at my parents house where we loaded everything up and I attempted to print the photo ideas Val and I had pinned on Pinterest the week before; of course that didn’t go as smoothly as it should have and we ended up being about 45 minutes behind our original schedule. Sean and I picked up my nephews then headed to my Grandma’s to meet up with Val and Keira (they rode with my parents). We then headed off to a beach near birch bay. It was nice enough and not really busy but here’s the problem. When I think of a beach I think of SAND!!! Well this is Washington State we are talking about and there is no sand just rocks so the idea of getting these great poses kind of flew out the window. We did attempt it though, starting with Val’s little family. The boys were not in the mood to have their picture taken and so that in itself was a challenge but in the end we were able to grab a couple of cute shots maybe minus Tristan’s fake smile! It was then time to switch and have Val take my little family’s pictures. We had set up this frame to take a cute picture of Jaxon by the frame and then Sean and I would be in the background but within one minute Jaxon went face first into the sand and rocks. I guess my mom was just really shocked that he had done that or something because it took her forever to react to him and pick him up. Poor little guy had sand in his eyes and everything. To his credit though he didn’t cry just whined a little until we figured out how to get it away from his eye. Of course after that he didn’t want to be left alone so our picture taken adventure at the beach was over! We had lunch and the boys got to fly kites for a few minutes then after that we headed to Lynden to finish off the pictures we wanted to get. The park was such a great idea!! We found a little area away from everyone else and were able to just take tons of pictures then just hang out in the shade, have dessert and just visit as a family. Then before we headed back to Everson to drop everyone off we went to DQ for a yummy blizzard; Jaxon of course loved this and got to taste three different blizzards (Spoiled baby)! Once we got back to my grandma’s place we stayed for maybe 15 minutes then headed home thinking we would be stuck in an hour border wait. Thankfully when we got there we were in line for maybe 10 minutes! I think we were all happy once we got into the house and just collapsed onto the couch. Jaxon was fantastic and pretty much went right to bed.

All in all this was a great day with my family and I am so happy that we now have a family picture to share with everyone!!

The Difference A Year Can Make

0047DSC02286

Last year Jaxon was just this little miracle growing in my belly (I was hardly even showing) and this year he is almost 6 months old!! The Difference A Year Can Make!

Last year I was preparing for motherhood and this year I am preparing for classes (in order to get a better paying job). The Difference A Year Can Make!

Last year Sean & I were just starting our life by moving in together and this year we are working on saving for a Townhouse for sometime down the road. The Difference A Year Can Make!

I always knew that there would come a day when my birthday didn’t give me that “night before Christmas” feeling and this was the year it happened. I think becoming a mommy made my priority’s so different that celebrating my birthday just isn’t all that important. I think for me Mother’s Day will replace my birthday in that perspective; celebrating the life I was able to create with the man I love just has so much more meaning then becoming a year older.

Now with all that said I did still have a great birthday! Jaxon and I went to Baby Time (which I almost forgot about because I had been busy working on updating this blog) then we went to the scrapbook store and I bought myself some new pattern paper as a present to myself. When Sean got home he have me a beautiful card…

Just hold my hand and you’ll feel it… Look in my eyes and you’ll see it… Listen when I whisper your name and you’ll hear it… Kiss me and you’ll be absolutely sure… I am just crazy about you! Happy Birthday Sweetheart

Then we dropped Jaxon off at my MIL and went out for our first real date since having Jaxon! We went to Red Robin (my choice) and just talked about all the things that we need to do for our future to be succsessful. It’s always nice to get back on the same page even though we really weren’t that far apart on what we were thinking.

It was a great day and I am so happy that I will get to celebrate every birthday from now on as a mommy!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Okay here I go!! My first weekend Wrap-Up post!!

Saturday we went out to lunch with Sean’s dad and Anna (Step-Mom) to the Olive Garden, it was so YUMMY!! I was afraid Jaxon would be troublesome because he recently has decided that he no longer like drinking from a bottle, but he was fantastic. He slept through the entire meal and then woke up just in time to spend a few minutes with his Grandpa. Then of course as soon as we left he got fussy…HAHAHa!! As soon as we got home I took a nice long nap while Sean spent time with Jaxon!

Sean thought he was catching a cold and by Sunday morning it was very obvious that he was indeed sick so our current goal is to keep Jaxon from getting sick and as of 10:50 this morning I think we are okay but who knows. Sunday was beautiful out and so I took Jaxon for a walk to the grocery store while Sean filed our taxes. We will get a total of $100 back between the two of us (whohoo we are rich)… We had a nice dinner of ham and macaroni while watching the hockey game that we actually won!!

Got Jaxon to bed on time and with not much fuss and Sean decided that he was going to sleep on the couch so I had the whole bed to myself!! I thought it was going to be great but I couldn’t sleep without him next to me.

So that’s it our simple and boring weekend but that’s how it was!!

Sunny Thursday

It has been amazing weather the last couple of days here!! Makes me wish for summertime to hurry up and arrive.

This morning I put Jaxon up in a sitting position and here is what happened:

Followed by this:

My parents came up for their last visit with Jaxon before they leave for their spring business trip, but before that Jaxon and I went for a really nice long walk…

Then we came back home and waited for Nana & Papa (my parents) to get here!! They showed up around two thirty and they had a good visit with Jaxon for a few hours, bought us pizza for dinner and said goodbye until Easter!

It was a nice day and was happy that they got to see Jaxon before they leave… TTYT!!

Happy Birthday Grandma

Today was Lori’s birthday (Sean’s mom)!! We took her out to Boston’s Pizza for dinner to celebrate. Now I am not meaning to complain but I honestly don’t think I will ever go back there for dinner again (the food was good so it had nothing to do with that). We got there and they sat us at a booth which honestly with a baby is not really that convenient at all not to mention the tables are so flippin high (which is great for Sean) that its impossible to really hold Jaxon correctly. The second problem was that it was so HOT in there that Jaxon got way too over heated which of course made him cranky and me being so aware of others didn’t want him to bother the table behind us with his crying. Only I didn’t really need to worry about that because it was so crazy loud in the restaurant that I could hardly hear what anyone across the table was saying to me. Just not a great experience and like I said wont go back there for dinner again if I can help it.

When we got home from dinner though and got Jaxon nice and calmed down he spent some time talking with his Grandma and I was able to catch a video of it…

I drove Lori home around nine and Jaxon slept basically the whole car ride so when we got back home and it was time for bed he wasn’t really agreeing with us on the subject. I ended up staying up with him till about eleven when he finally agreed to fall asleep and I was able to join him!!

Love Tuesdays!!

Today is my favorite day of the week because it’s the day Sean leaves me the car and I can get out of the house!! I have started attending a mommy meetup group at my local community health center in Cloverdale. It’s fantastic because its not just hanging out with other moms there is also a nurse that is there and we discuss a new topic every week. I am allowed to attend these meetups until Jaxon is 6 months old and then you get a certificate and have to find a new place to go (I am pretty sure they just end up repeating their topics as to why you wouldn’t keep going). This is fine with me because at 6 months I can take Jaxon to mommy and me swimming classes.

After the meetup we came back home and went for a really nice long walk (it was like 14 out at one o’clock so it was perfect temperature). I absolutely love our neighborhood and feel so safe going out so I tend to lengthen my walks every time I go out. Plus Jaxon loves getting fresh air and a little nap in. Anyways I know it doesn’t sound like much but that was how my day went but I do have a cute little video to share with you about Jaxon finding his voice and then just some random pictures that I took as well…
